Most courses I teach are not intended as general basic introductions to trance, hypnosis, or hypnotherapy. There are plenty of fairly competent folks you can go to for that. I tend to teach either specialty trance areas or special advanced topics. The specialty area courses tend to be open to anyone while the advanced topics are only open to experienced hypnotists. If they are not on the current schedule, we may still rotate them into the standard schedule as interest and time presents itself. S.E.T. Hypnotist Certification Course (An Accelerated Program for Certification as Hypnotist for the Society of Experiential Trance) - Course Hours: fourteen hours (two days), Prerequisite: None, novice and experienced hypnotists welcome - This is the cross-certification intensive training program originally developed for experienced hypnotists who have some background or previous hypnosis experience who wish to cross-certify with the Society of Experiential Trance but require an intensive review of the basic skillsets prior to undergoing the competence examination. The course has been re-cast as an accelerated instruction program that will act as solid review for previously experienced hypnotists who might have foundation experience but lack background in some experiential trance processes taught by the Society as well as an accelerated learning program for bright and enthusiastic beginners who are ready to jump in full throttle. This is not a lecture course. There is no theory taught. It is a full two solid days of demonstration, explanation, and practice, practice, practice. All of the skillsets required in the competency examination for membership with the Society are covered in this accelerated course. Those who complete this course and pass the course competency evaluation are eligible for basic membership in and certification as Hypnotist with the Society of Experiential Trance. Please note, participation in the course does not imply automatic membership in the Society, participants must demonstrate competence in the material. As this course is an accelerated program in the form of an intensive review of skillsets, students are responsible for keeping up and for their progress. Most experienced hypnotists and gifted beginners should be able to do so, however, no guarantees are made in this regard due to the nature of the course.

Participants will learn how stage hypnosis shows are structured and what the most common techniques and methods are for introducing the concepts of hypnosis in an entertaining way, how to select audience participants, suggestibility testing, waking suggestion, group hypnotic induction methods, instant hypnosis techniques for demonstration, group hypnotic effects, individual hypnotic effects, skits for performance, post-hypnotic effects, and much much more . . . and how to use them for entertainment purposes. This is an intensive introduction to entertainment hypnosis structure with in-depth critique of a variety of professional stage hypnosis shows of many types. Those who complete this course and the follow-up Advanced Stage Hypnosis course who meet all other eligibility requirements are qualified to take the examination for a Specialization Certificate in Entertainment Hypnosis from the Society of Experiential Trance. Those who have taken the Introduction to Stage Hypnosis course in the past will find that while much of the textbook is the same, this is a new course with a complete overhaul, using new examples and class materials. - Advanced Techniques for Hypnosis Practitioners - Course Hours: fifteen hours (five evenings), Prerequisite: previous Basic Hypnosis experience expected - This is an advanced skills course for experienced hypnotists. The material covered is intended to further the understanding and skills of those who have already mastered basic hypnosis. In the course, students will learn how to conduct sessions on the following topics: Instant and Rapid Hypnosis Induction Techniques, Self-Hypnosis (Basic and Advanced Techniques), Experiential Trance Guided Imagery, Hypnosis Techniques for Students, Hypnosis for Sports Improvement, and Hypnosis Approaches to Stop Smoking.
- Society of Experiential Trance Hypnosis and Focused Trance Certification Training - Course Hours: thirty hours (ten evenings), Prerequisite: None, novice and experienced hypnotists welcome - quality comprehensive competence-based training for basic certification qualification in hypnosis and focused trance. This comprehensive course qualifies those participants who pass the competence examination for certification with the Society of Experiential Trance.

If a course is not listed, we will still offer it if it is within our areas of interest and experience (see the blog and other areas of this webpage for a wide assortment of possible topics and if you're not sure, just ask). If anyone would like to schedule a course in these or other topics that are not listed here at a different time from the current schedule, feel free to contact us. For courses offered in Taipei, as long as I can fit it into my limited schedule, I will open a set as long as there is a minimum of ten students. Courses outside of Taipei or Taiwan have special considerations and pricing structures. For special closed enrollment courses, the fee structure is different than publicly available courses. Some subjects require prerequsites and age requirements. Specialty and esoteric or other off-the-beaten-path as well as Advanced Experiential Trance Technique topics are available. Feel free to discuss with me an offering of a course or workshop related to any of the specialized topics discussed on this website or on my blog. Certain subjects require participants to enroll with practice partners and/or consenting adults only. We're pretty outgoing and liberal so most topics are well within what we can offer, however please understand that some topics are still outside our comfort zone (if in doubt, just ask).

- HypnosisTechniqueExchange - The Waking Dreams Focused Trance and Hypnosis Technique and Script Exchange is an online forum for the development and exchange of techniques for focused trance, guided imagery, and hypnosis (therapeutic, sales, sports, or other uses - approaches are assumed to be with "consenting" subjects). The purpose of the group is to encourage discussion of techniques and to act as a workshop to improve technique development. Learn and improve by creating your own approaches and critiquing the work of others. The forum hosts monthly seminars on hypnosis topics (often taught by Brian David Phillips).

This discount is not available for certain courses. For pricing on shorter or longer courses, please inquire. Please note that students who have attended one of our previous five-or-more-day courses, receive a ten percent Golden Value Discount on registration fees when registering for additional courses (you must clearly state you wish the Golden Value Discount upon registration and provide your complete information and titles and dates of the most recent full course you previously attended).
While I teach in English, we will offer Mandarin Chinese interpretation for our Taipei courses if at least five people sign up and request interpretation services (the best way to reserve Chinese interpretation is to sign up AS A GROUP of at least five persons, however, individuals may sign up requesting the service and Lorraine will keep you posted on whether or not it can be offerred based upon the total number who sign up). Cantonese Chinese interpretation is also available. Folks interested in having us arrange Chinese interpretation for a course should contact Lorraine.
