Goals:
Further the advancement of Hypnosis research and practice in a wide variety of contexts. Teach Communication, Theatre/Drama, English, Literature, and/or Cultural Studies in an energetic university, college, or institution which prizes instructors and staff members who have strong and eclectic interests through which they may channel their individual drives to succeed.
Education:
- Ph.D. in English/Comparative Literature (focus in British and American Literature) at the Graduate Institute of Foreign Languages and Literatures, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., July 1998. Dissertation in Interactive Drama: Critical Perspectives on Freeform Role Plays as Drama. Extensive coursework in Literary Criticism, James Joyce, Carl Jung, Comparative Theory, and Arthurian Literature among others with research interests in Interactive Drama, Comparative Film, Mythic Criticism, Drama, Popular Culture Studies, Literature of Eros and Imagination, and Science Fiction & Fantasy Literature.
- M.A. in Communication/Theatre at Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas, U.S.A., in May 1989. Graduated with honors, Phi Kappa Phi (highest honor the university may grant a graduating scholar). Received the Excellence in Graduate Study Award, the highest honor the Communication Department may grant a graduate student. Also received the Excellence in Scholarship Award. Won the First Place Award in the university wide Graduate Research Coloquium. Special research in Intercultural Communication and in Shakespeare, Acting, and Directing. Finished program with twelve hours of post-graduate course work.
