I am Brian David Phillips, Ph.D., C.H. and I am a Focused Trance Guide, Certified Focused Trance Guide Instructor Trainer, Board Certified Hypnotist, Certified Hypnotherapist, Certified Hypnosis Instructor Trainer, and the Executive Director of the Society of Experiential Trance.If you are in the Taipei, Taiwan, area and would like to schedule a session with me or book a show or other hypnosis or trance-related event, feel free to email me. I can offer hypnotherapy, recreational, non-therapeutic, and performance entertainment hypnosis. Since I do not do hypnosis as a fulltime, my time (my duties at the university as an educator and researcher are my primary focus), energy, and resources are limited. Therefore, I will not work with everyone who asks. I reserve the right to decline to work with you or anyone else for whatever reasons. If I do decline to work with you, don't take it personally. There are plenty of alternatives in Taipei (see below). I will not work with people for strictly medical or psychotherapeutic conditions without a referral from a licensed healthcare or mental health practitioner. For some conditions, I may require that you have a medical or psychological referral. For recreational, pastlife, esteem, simple phobia, habit control, sports, study, public speaking, communication, breast enhancement, most sexuality issues, concentration, visualization, and other work, no referral is needed. Feel free to consult other sections of this webpage for an idea of typical areas I can help you with. If you're not sure if hypnosis is right for you, feel free to ask. While I am happy to be your guide into the fascinating world of focused trance, guided imagery, hypnosis, and trancework, my trance-based sessions are conducted in English. If this is a problem for you, you may wish to consult the following Focused Trance Resources in Taiwan list for Chinese language alternatives. If you are in Taiwan, these are focused trance, guided imagery, hypnosis, hypnotherapy, hypnotism, meditation, and trancework centers, clinics, institutes, training centers, and web resources for you. While most of these resources are in Chinese, a few may also have English services available. - Waking Dreams: Brian David Phillips - this site. Brian David Phillips a highly respected focused trance guide, hypnotist, stage hypnotist, hypnosis trainer, and scholar. He has an international reputation for quality and knowledge in regard to trance-based modalities. The site has both general information on focused trance, guided imagery, hypnosis, and other forms of trancework as well as material specifically intended as a resource for professional focused trance guides, hypnotists, and others using trance-based methods.
- Society of Experiential Trance - this international organization is one of the finest for quality competence-based trance modality training with certifications available in waking dreams, hypnosis, guided imagery, focused trance thoughtforms, and other methods for self-enrichment, therapy, education, recreation, and entertainment. It is one of the best organizations of its type around.

- HypnoTaipei - The Taipei Waking Dreams Experiential Trancework Workshop is a hypnosis/trance workshop for individuals who are interested in focused trance, guided imagery, and hypnosis practice, developing new techniques, and socializing with other focused trance guides and hypnotists Taipei and the rest of Taiwan. Dr. Phillips organizes and hosts the group as well as teaches most of the monthly sessions.
- HypnosisTechniqueExchange - The Waking Dreams Focused Trance and Hypnosis Technique and Script Exchange is an online forum for the development and exchange of techniques for focused trance, guided imagery, and hypnosis (therapeutic, sales, sports, or other uses - approaches are assumed to be with "consenting" subjects). The purpose of the group is to encourage discussion of techniques and to act as a workshop to improve technique development. Learn and improve by creating your own approaches and critiquing the work of others. The forum hosts monthly seminars on hypnosis topics (often taught by Brian David Phillips).
